I have been using smartwatches for over a year now, starting with a rock, and I admit that I have always used them intermittently. I'm always changing, checking, but no one stays on my wrist for long. I did not take advantage of them in my daily experience but then, taking advantage of the summer, I decided to give it another serious opportunity: play with Android Wear.

I practice sports regularly throughout the year and many times I have tried to introduce technology in my routine in the form of activity bracelets like mobile applications or accessories. This time I set out on a challenge to balance the GG watch and see if it fit into my workout routine and, incidentally, I gain a little more weight. Helps reduce.

The world of gaming applications on Android is not new: there are so many options for almost every type of workout and the main developers have jumped on the bandwagon. In addition, more Android Wear-based options have emerged, so this will not happen due to a lack of alternatives.

All applications test Android Wear hardware: gyros, accelerometer, GPS and heart rate monitor. In this experiment, I have exercised with the LG G watch so I have not been able to extract all the functions like Wi-Fi connectivity for data transfer. Introduced, let's go with it.

Basics: Counting Stages

Before we get into the habit of exercising and losing weight we go with a foundation that lets us know what we do every day. We don't need to install anything here because everything comes standard: Google Fit. Taking advantage of the clock's accelerometer, we can measure the steps we take and the goals we set.

Although Android Wear comes with this feature, I personally want to request that I also install the application on my mobile so that it can run the progress more easily. It works well and although this is not the most important part of our goal, it is worthwhile to know if we are short of sports sessions.

This is true when it comes to measuring, but it's also not right, so whenever you give us money, let's take it carefully. Remember that it is very easy to cheat with accelerometers and we can make the sensors make movements that do not match the actual motion. Raise your arms for smoking.

Running with Android Wear. Go

Let's go through the first phase of your training: go for a run. I have tried many applications on mobile and in the end, I always choose Fantastic Pro. It is five euros, at that time it was possible to download it for free, but it works well and also on the watch. There are many options when we are training.

From the Android Wear screen, we can see the map, the sessions that we have prepared for today, the various statistics. All of these functions are very useful if we carry a mobile phone in a bracelet or pocket.

Navigating these menus is comfortable, especially when we are stopped, but if we try to see something while running, it is better that we stop and not be distracted because we have different menus to consult. You have to make gestures. Indeed, a first look at the screen helps us to see the basics: how long we have been in time and distance.

The connection between the watch and the mobile is correct and does not present any problems at any time. The experience of running Android Wear is positive: the information it provides is useful when we are exercising and helps us to know what we are doing. Time can be given by any clock, it is true, but distance is a distinguishing factor.

Cardiograph

If we do cardio in general, it is important to know if we are burning fat or over-measuring. I don't have a heart rate monitor so I decided to check it out because the LG G Watch R has allowed me to measure heart rate with a suitable application. My choice was clear: cardiograph.

The process is simple: it is responsible for measuring the pulse using the Android Wear sensor and showing us the data on the screen. All records are compatible with mobile so that we can consult them at any time and see the evolution.

The application is basic and does its job. We can measure while walking and store them on mobile via Bluetooth. The only downside is that you can't program the measurements from time to time and it warns us if we pass the whole number of beats. It performs well in training but is not as effective as a heart rate monitor.

Listening to music: Better than mobile

It is true that music will not only help us to lose weight or get fit, but it also encourages us to keep playing sports. In my case, I use multiple Spotify playlists stored in the mobile cache. This is not the first time I've used it in Android Wear
